Feeding Frenzy...

These colorful birds just finished a show at the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore.
Their keeper through some seeds on the log and two birds came flying down to grab them, the light was poor but I though this shot showed their flurry.

Flying Fish...

This one is from my archives. Taken on our holiday's in Cairn, Queensland.
I was trying some long exposure with my Nikon D90.
I like the abstract look of this image.

George Town - Penang...

Clan Jetties - Pengkalan Weld

Took this shot while on holidays in Malaysia.
Clan Jetties are unique Chinese settlements along the Weld Quay, with homes built along wooden piers that extend into the Penang Channel. The residents are all descendant of Chinese immigrants.

Singapore Orchids...

There are so many of these gorgeous flowers all over the garden at the Singapore zoo and along the main streets.
Their colours are amazing and so are their perfume.

Telaga Harbour Park, Langkawi...

Headland Watch Tower

Posted this shot from Telaga Harbour Park on my Malaysian Holiday's blog. It is a pretty area near the Perdan Quay, sandy beach, and a marina filled with expensive looking yatchs. Surprisingly, there is also some wild buffaloes roaming and grazing not far from here.

Melaka's Trishaw...

While in Melaka, a 90km drive from Kuala Lumpur, we spend some walking some of the streets of this lovely city. Jonker Steet led us to the Dutch Square in Bandar Hilir where a hub of activities was going on. A lot of tourists took advantage of this beautifully decorated trishaw to get around, the driver of this particular one was having a rest and I could not resist this shot.

Slow Sunday...

Flamingos
Singapore Zoo

Raining again today, but this did not deter us to go for our drive down to the Pt Adelaide Markets. Found some little treasures to add to my little jugs collection. Also discovered a Royal Albert tea cup and saucer set for Richard's Mum for next week's Mother's Day.

Texture Tuesday #4...

Giraffe at the Singapore Zoo

Joining Kim Klassen Texture Tuesdays with something different. Photo was taken while on holiday in Malaysia, two weeks ago. Duplicated background layer, added "Serendipity" texture layer softlight blend 100%, giraffe had textured removed with selection mask, another "Serendipity" texture layer was added, this time the blend mode was 100% multiply. A rectangular selection was made with the centre then deleted to bring giraffe through and leave a nice darker frame around the whole image.

Out on the Edge...

I took this shot while in Singapore. We paid the fee to go up to the 56th floor to check out this amazing pool, right on the edge of the building. It is incredible to think that we are so high up and the buildings in the background are higher up still.

Kangaroo Island Revisited...

Dudley Peninsula, Top of Lighthouse

Pennington Bay

Vivonne Bay

Only just back from our holiday and I am already wanting to go again. It seems that it takes no time for the old routine to set back in...How unfortunate... But that's life and I guess and most of us are in the same boat. In the meantime, I have been able to enjoy the quiet moments I was looking for as well as spend time to update our travel blog. Tomorrow is Easter Friday, and the kids are coming around for lunch so I better get on with some of my pre-cooking.

Lazy Sunday...

Spider Orchids

While on holiday in Malaysia, this little flowers took my attention; they seem to be growing everywhere.
They look so fragile and their perfume is quite amazing.

Having quite a lazy Sunday, slowly getting over my cold and starting to feel better. Took a couple of walks with our dog, as the weather was just fantastic, once down the shop to get the paper and later this afternoon around our usual path down the park. I must take my camera down next time to try and get some shots of those beautifully colored lorikeets which keep hanging around the trees.

First Day of Autumn...

I love this time of year. The nights get cooler and the days are still pleasantly warm. The leaves start to turn from green to yellow, brown and red.  The trees shed their barks exposing their new clean, smooth skins. The wind doesn't seem to be as relentless as it can get in spring time.
This photo was taken during a holiday in New Zealand. Taking a stroll around Queenstown Queen's Garden, we came across this lovely lake. So peaceful.
