This paddle steamer was lovingly restored by a band of volunteers from the Renmark region.

Thanks to their ongoing efforts, she now steams at regular interval throughout the year.

Texture Tuesday #13...The Golden eDition.

I am thinking about combining my photography with my recently acquired interest in Calligraphy.

Used 'Golden Texture' on a softlight blended layer at 100%, removing texture from flower with a mask.
Added 'Sweettreat Texture' on a multiply blended layer at 100%, using a selection to remove centre of texture to leave a frame.

Renmark Balloon Fiesta...

Seems like the week has gotten away from me and I didn't get a chance to post yesterday.

I have been taking a calligraphy class and our final assignment was due this week.

I might post an image of the finished work later, in the meantime here are

 more shots from the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.

Chasing Balloons...

It's 6.00am, it's cold and dark and the organizers have decided that the conditions are near right for balloon flying.

A convoy of cars leave the Renmark Sports' Oval and head for Yamba's Roadhouse.

Inflating the balloon

In the middle of nowhere, in an open paddock, the pilots and their helpers make ready for their flight.

Nearly there

As the sun slowly rises behind us , the pilots are making their final check.

Up, up and away.

Balloon Fiesta - Night Glow...

During our long weekend in Renmark, we went to the Sports' Oval to watch some of 

the Hot Air Balloon pilots put on a show called 'Night Glow'.

The balloon were inflated, but stayed tethered, then the pilots took turn in firing up

their burners for spectacular light show.

I had to boost my ISO significantly and keep the lens wide open to get these shots.

Long Weekend in Renmark...

Last weekend, we spent some time in the Riverland.

Our first stop was at the local airport, where they put on a display of vintage cars and bikes.

I liked the reflection in this one.

I have quite a few photos to go through and intend to post a few over the next few weeks.
