Texture Tuesday...The Simplicity eDition

On Sunday, we went for a walk down Brighton where the Brighton Jetty Classic Sculptures Exhibition was held.
This beautiful piece titled "Waiting for Me" was carved from Mt Gambier Limestone.

Added Kim's Simplicity texture. First at 100% Hue mode, then again at 100% Color Burn mode

Scavenger Hunt Sunday...and I Heart Macro

It's that time of the week.
It has been a busy one for me, that's my excuse for coming up with only four out of the five prompts. Here goes.

1. Smile

James, always smiling.

2. Stand Alone.

Not standing, but quite alone.

3. Rusty or Something Old

Old and rusty

Seppeltsfield Winery...

During our tour of the Barossa with Chrystel, we stopped at this charming and inviting winery.
Seppeltsfield was established in the 1851 and to this day makes award winning wines.

Texture Tuesday...The Story eDition

Kim Klassen, in her Beyond layers series, has this quote by Thomas M Cirignano
"Each of us is a book waiting to be written, and that book, if written, results in a person explained."

I wonder what his story is...

I used Kim's new texture 'Simplicity'. First in Softlight mode 100% opacity, then in Multiply mode at 62% opacity with the elliptical marquee tool used to eliminate some of the texture off the man and background.

New Project...

I have not had much chance to get near my sewing machine since just before Christmas,
so my first quilt is still not finished.

Ready for quilting.

My niece is expecting a little boy in May, so I have decided to make her a baby quilt.
Stack of material, cut and ready to be put together.

The final design of the coin stack.

Linking up with Lisa, why don't you join me.

A Bouquet of Sunshine...

While walking along Rundle Mall, I spotted these lovely sunflowers under the canopy of one of the flowers stalls.

Photo Art Friday...and Beyond Layers link up

This was a bit out of my comfort zone. A long way from pretty flowers!
Took a shot of this burned out ute which was left in the street not far from home.
Edited in PSE9, added a 'Poster Edge' filter layer and a 'Cut Out' filter layer. Then applied PDPA's Chinks of light texture.

Kim Klassen has challenged us to be a little simplistic with our composition.
To to this simple shot of some paint brushes in a glass, I added Kim's new texture 'awaken'.
I made some adjustment to the color of the texture by adding a hue/saturation layer adjustment.

Hot Chocolate Anyone...

On our trip to Mildura, we stopped at this little cafe in Barmera for lunch.
Not only was this the best tasting hot chocolate I have had but the best looking one too.
