Fisherman's nets...

I took this shot last Sunday at the Old Tailem Town. I like the texture in these old nets and floats. A little play with some highkey preset in Lightroom3 for an old vintage look.

Texture Tuesday #7...

The Old Cart

Posted this one yesterday in its SOOC form, today I have done a little editing in Photoshop so I can post it for Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesdays. First edited in Lightroom3, then in PS9 added KK luminous texture at 73% softlight blended layer, a boost of contrast, then KK serendipity texture at 100% softlight blended layer.

This photo is from my archives, added KK bentedges at 100% softlight blended layer, desaturated the image and added a frame to darken the edges.

The challenge for this week was "Vintage" with a texture from Kim Klassen, click on the button below to see other lovely images or come and join us in the fun.

Old Tailem Town...

We took a drive on Sunday to "Old Tailem Town" for a camera club outing. This is quite an amazing place with lots of wonderful old buildings from South Australia's pioneer days. This is a great place to come and learn about our early settlers' way of life. The leaves seemed to have taken over this lovely old cart which has seen better days.

The shot above is SOOC, (straight out of camera), and I am including it in The Creative Exchange with host Lisa Gordon. Why don't you join us by clicking on the button below.

China Girl...

I think I mentioned before how much I love these little flowers, so delicate. I used a new High Key Lightroom Preset that a friend has given me. I quite like the resulting effect.

Glad that Googler has fixed the problem so I can join A rosy Note for Photo feature friday. The challenge was "Spring". Why don't you click on the button below and join us.

Telaga Harbour Park, Langkawi...

Headland Watch Tower

Posted this shot from Telaga Harbour Park on my Malaysian Holiday's blog. It is a pretty area near the Perdan Quay, sandy beach, and a marina filled with expensive looking yatchs. Surprisingly, there is also some wild buffaloes roaming and grazing not far from here.

Happy Mother's Day...

Chrysanthemum

The weather was glorious today as we drove to Centennial Cemetery to place flowers on Mum's grave. The roses are still blooming and the place looks lovely. Lunch was at the Marion Hotel, it was great to have the whole family together as we don't seem to get that chance as often as we used to. Dad looked well and totally enjoyed his day too.

Melaka's Trishaw...

While in Melaka, a 90km drive from Kuala Lumpur, we spend some walking some of the streets of this lovely city. Jonker Steet led us to the Dutch Square in Bandar Hilir where a hub of activities was going on. A lot of tourists took advantage of this beautifully decorated trishaw to get around, the driver of this particular one was having a rest and I could not resist this shot.

Repeat Performance...

Emerging

My photography club, Para Camera Club entered the Watford International Salon of Photography (WISP) in late April and I was lucky to have the above photo selected as part of the club set of 10 images to be presented on behalf of our members. I am so happy to report that we came first out of the ten clubs who participated in this competition, and that my image scored 18 out of 20. This is my first time in the international arena and I am thrilled with this result.

Texture Tuesday #5

Lavender Tea

Coffee, Tea or Me

The challenge, this week for Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesdays was as follow:
                   1. At least one of Kim's textures to be used on the photo
                   2. The photo must be of a coffee or tea cup

I could not decide which shots I like the best, so I am posting a couple this week.
I used "bentedges" on the first image at 100% softlight layer, "coffee, tea or me" was used on the second image in the same way.

Click on the button below to check out other fantastic images or have a go yourself.

Slow Sunday...

Flamingos
Singapore Zoo

Raining again today, but this did not deter us to go for our drive down to the Pt Adelaide Markets. Found some little treasures to add to my little jugs collection. Also discovered a Royal Albert tea cup and saucer set for Richard's Mum for next week's Mother's Day.
