Photo Art Friday...

Christchurch Cathedral, May 2008.
This beautiful cathedral is no longer standing.

This is my tribute to the people of Christchurch, who are still rebuilding their lives
from the ruins of last year's devastating earthquakes.
We were lucky to be able to visit this amazing place, back in 2008,
and we are looking forward to going there again soon.

A lovely tribute Nadege. Love the light in this image. It must be quite a rebuilding process going on in New Zealand now. Thank you for sharing this meaningful piece with us at Photo Art Friday.

There's great power in this photo with all the lines reaching towards the skies.

so sad, the demise of that lovely church (I've seen it myself many years back), and the surrounds too. Lovely texture background Nadege. Shame I'm just not spreading myself far enough these days to make it to this meme for the moment.

Beautiful tribute to this church and gorgeous piece of architexture. How sad that it was lost. Your use of texture worked well for this photo.

A dramatic image. The earthquake must have been devastating. Unlike floods or even bush fires, you have warning at all.

What a stunning church (similar to St Andrew's Anglican in Brisbane) and so sad that it was destroyed in the earthquakes. How blessed you were to have seen it and to have the memories of it.
A lovely post and tribute :)
