Photo Art Friday...and Beyond Layers link up

This was a bit out of my comfort zone. A long way from pretty flowers!
Took a shot of this burned out ute which was left in the street not far from home.
Edited in PSE9, added a 'Poster Edge' filter layer and a 'Cut Out' filter layer. Then applied PDPA's Chinks of light texture.

Photo Art Friday

Kim Klassen has challenged us to be a little simplistic with our composition.
To to this simple shot of some paint brushes in a glass, I added Kim's new texture 'awaken'.
I made some adjustment to the color of the texture by adding a hue/saturation layer adjustment.

I like this Nadege. The way the brushes point up draws the eye and the colour tones then draw the eye back to the brush handles.

Nadege! I am visiting from Photo Art Friday which does not seem to be up yet. Think that your car abstract is quite interesting, and that you have really gotten a very unique looking Abstract look. Like the colors and the posterized effect. Also , very nice effect with KK texture on the brushes!

WOW...I almost didn't recognize this as one of your photos! It's fun to step outside one's comfort zone, and I think you accomplished a very interesting composition. Hey, I'm a late comer to Kim's class (just joined yesterday)...I need to catch up :)

Nadege, you did brilliantly stepping out of your comfort zone!! You are much braver than me.
I love the paint brushes in the jar. Lovely image. Great edits on both images. I hope one day to have even close to your skill with my photography and to develop enough creativity to edit as you do.
I love visiting your blog. Have a lovely weekend.

I really "love" both of these. And, I am participating in both, also. Took a couple photos this morning so will see about "simplistic." Great job, as usual. Thanks. kareninkenai

Your treatment of the car is great the effect you have achieved has given the old car new meaning.

Both of these are wonderful;
so different from one another.
If the car photo is out of your comfort zone,
try going there more often.
This is great!

Your PAF submission is fantastic as is your KK rendering, even though I have never seem to be able to manage simplistic, I certainly admire it!

Visiting from PAF....The angle of the car and how it filled the page attracted me. I do love the way you used the textures on this piece.

Oh my Nadege - that first abstract took my breath away! How professional it looks ... is!! Just stunning. So happy you shared it with Photo Art Friday. Now I'm so inspired I want to try something too, but have company arriving soon ... (darn) ;0)

Wow! Your abstract Photo Art Piece is amazing. It would be wonderful as a Poster. - Loved your other piece as well.

You made it beautiful, well done!

Both shots look amazing.. I took the same type of shot for my simple shot.. But I still need to add a simple texture to it..
I will be lucky if it turns out half as good as yours..

the first photo is the best I´ve seen today. Great work. This is ART!

Both of these are terrific. The brushes look very much like little soldiers in a row, ready for the artist to use.
The car is outstanding. The results you got there are wonderful -- especially the variations of color.

I'm stopping by from Beyond Layers...you certainly accomplished this week's assignment. Your image is stunningly simple.

But I love(!) the first image in this post...the colors, the composition, the post-processing are just spectacular.
