Butterfly Portrait...

I was checking the mail on Friday when I spotted this butterfly sitting on my Rosemary Bush. I went inside to get my camera by chance that  it would still be there when I came back. I was lucky enough to fire off about 20 shots before it had enough and flew away. My first effort with butterfly and I'm quite thrilled with the result.

Posting for I Heart Macro with Lori at Studio Waterstone, join me.

Beautiful shot, lucky you for it to sit still for a while. I love how the little white dots on the edge of its wings are repeated on the body at the front...who would have known!!
