Chrystel...

After spending three weeks with us, my cousin, Chrystel, is now on her way home. 

It was so wonderful to have her with us and being able to show her around the place where we live.

We also discover how similar we are, not only in our passion for horses and photography but also in our view of life in general. I will miss her terribly.

On the positive, we are now planning a trip to France for 2014.

In Loving Memory...

A year has gone since Mum passed away after a major stroke. She had just turned 86.

Today we all got together for lunch and had a wonderful time reminiscing.

Blue Eyes

I don't seem to take many people photos, apart from the one taken at family get together.

Add to go back into my archives to get this photo for Kim's challenge.

On duplicated background, I added 'KK portrait' layer blended to 28% Overlay.

Texture was removed from eyes and lips.

Added another layer of 'KK portrait blended to 100% Multiply.

A selection was made inside the image and deleted 

to leave a darker frame.

Happy Mother's Day...

Chrysanthemum

The weather was glorious today as we drove to Centennial Cemetery to place flowers on Mum's grave. The roses are still blooming and the place looks lovely. Lunch was at the Marion Hotel, it was great to have the whole family together as we don't seem to get that chance as often as we used to. Dad looked well and totally enjoyed his day too.

              This is my gorgeous daughter, Chantal. Tonight we are getting together with a her family and friends to celebrate  her engagement to Lee. I am so proud of my girl and so happy that she has found such a wonderful person to share her life with.

A "Kodak" Moment...

            When Chantal was 9yrs old, we bought her this lovely 12.2hh pony. Over the next few years, they developped into quite a team. Most of our weekends were spent at horseshows or down at the "Salisbury Riding Club". This shot was taken at the Mt Pleasant Show; they both had a very active morning and were taking a little rest. Eventually Chantal outgrew her pony, but we had the pleasure of his company for 15 great years before we had to sell him on. It was a very sad day for me when I took him to his new family.
