Mad Monday...

Odd One Out

On the go all day. Early start to  get James and take him to school, as Chantal still recovering from her recent operation. Then straight down to Clive's to help out for the day. Quick late lunch, then back to get James and take him home. Some ironing for Damian, then back to stables to feed Sparky and clean out his paddock. Richard is off to Sydney overnight, so it's just me, the dog and two cats tonight.....Only three more sleeps to go...Yeah.
The image above was created in Lightroom 3. One flower, nine versions and contact print layout and voila...

Happy Sunday...

The  Moorings

Looking for that greety look for this shot, I pushed the sliders in Lightroom 3. I was quite happy with the resulting print and got a nice surprise at our camera competition when the judge liked it too and awarded me an honour award.
Only four more sleeps till we leave. Getting a little nervous and can't wait to enjoy this new experience.

Friday...

Simplicity

Glad to see the end of the week. After a grey start, the sun actually showed its face this afternoon and warmed us up slightly. Six days to go before we leave for our trip...Yeah...

Another Grey Day...

I think autumn has passed us by and winter has settled right in, so I am posting some photos taken when the days were longer and the night still warm. Took a drive to Pt Adelaide with a group from my camera club for a twilight shoot. Richard, my husband came too and we had a great time looking for good locations.

Grey Day...

Wet and windy, so spending the day indoor. This rose has an amazing perfume.  I placed it by the window and took a few shots with my 60mm micro lens  and converted this one to monochrome, to fit the mood of the day.

Mellow Yellow...

Feeling a little blue, so took a short drive down to the Barossa Valley, in  South Australia. As we were taking a walk along Angaston's quiet streets, we came upon this lovely rose garden. I couldn't resist the shot. The busy background was replaced in Photoshop. I quite like the way it turned out.

Chantal...

This is my gorgeous daughter, Chantal. Tonight we are getting together with a her family and friends to celebrate  her engagement to Lee. I am so proud of my girl and so happy that she has found such a wonderful person to share her life with.

What cats do best...

My two boys doing what they do best ...snoozing... what a life.

Got his teeth into my finger when I first got him and drew blood, hence the name.

Itsy Bitsy Spider...

I am not a fan of spiders but this specimen has set up her home high in one corner of our pergola. From a golden thread, she has built this amazing many layered web, which glows in the sunlight. Three similar but smaller spiders have moved in. Not sure if they are a babies, never seen a spider like this one before.

Bits of Grass...

Texture by courtesy of SKC Photography

The colors here, don't look as bright as in the original image and I am not sure I like the third strand of grass down the bottom. Just wanted to experiment with some textures which I found on this great site, skcphotos.blogspot.com. Some amazing pictures can be found there, go check it out .

Agapanthus...

Emerging

The season is now over for these delightful flowers. I took this shot a few month back as they were just emerging from their soft casing. The flowers are usually blue or white  in many-flowered umbels.

Butterfly Iris...

These flowers look so delicate and they don't seem to last very long.
The 3D frame was added using layers in Photoshop.

After the Rain...

It has been raining all night. This morning, the air is crisp and sweet smelling. All the shrubs are dipping heavy with water drops. Everything has a clean, fresh look; the trees have taken on a deeper, more rustic hue and all the plants and flowers are looking so alive in their shiny bright coats.

Showjumping at Mallala....

Took this shot a while back at the Mallala Equestrian Centre. Spending most of my time riding, I never really had the time or chance to take" Horse in Action" shots. Took a while to get my eye in but I was quite happy with the result. A little time spent in Photoshop to add the radial blur. I like the feel of the horse popping up at you over the fence.

Softly Softly...

Another feather study, this time in monochrome. The judge liked the minimalist effect enough to give me a honour award. I hope you enjoy it too.

The Rose...

My first effort with layer blending in Photoshop. I quite like the textured result and the old time feel of the photo.

First Day of Autumn...

I love this time of year. The nights get cooler and the days are still pleasantly warm. The leaves start to turn from green to yellow, brown and red.  The trees shed their barks exposing their new clean, smooth skins. The wind doesn't seem to be as relentless as it can get in spring time.
This photo was taken during a holiday in New Zealand. Taking a stroll around Queenstown Queen's Garden, we came across this lovely lake. So peaceful.
